PFM Welding, a small business specializing in the construction, start-up and maintenance of snowmaking systems, purchased an ABB ACS 550-U2 VFD and a Data Industrial flowmeter for Shirley Meadows in Alta Sierra. This proved to be a quick, low budget fix for their pump station needs.

The Alpine Village domestic water supply pump station needed a replacement pressure switch quickly. A Kobold KPH-8022 was sent to them the same day by UPS Blue, per their request.

Pump and motor for snowmaking
A new pump was needed for Snow Valley’s increased snowmaking. The Flowserve 10EJH- 4 stage pump and a 200HP motor from US Motors were chosen to handle the job. A new ABB ACS 550 U2 VFD (variable frequency drive), a Duo-Chek valve and miscellaneous fittings were also added to the package.
